On The Safe Side - Safe Kids South Carolina will be launching a pilot safety series in 2012. Each month, Safe Kids will issue resources targeting a different safety issue for elementary and middle school children. Materials will include posters, tip sheets, interactive activities, art project ideas and teacher guides.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Pedestrian Safety Lessons - The Child Pedestrian Safety Curriculum teaches and encourages pedestrian safety for students grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade. It is organized into five lessons: walking near traffic, crossing streets, crossing intersections, parking lot safety, and school bus safety. Each lesson builds upon previous set of skills learned.

Nestle and the National Education Association Health Information Network created 31 lessons to teach K-3 students basic nutrition and physical activity concepts. The lessons, which meet national standards for health, math, science, English/language arts, and social studies curricula, include easy-to-follow instructions and supplementary materials, lesson extensions and more.

It's Your Health, Take Charge! The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control has created videos and activities to help teach children the importance of good nutrition and healthy living.

"Action for a cleaner tomorrow" is an activity-based, interdisciplinary curriculum supplement that can serve as a starting place for introducing basic environmental education in the classroom. It's Your Health, Take Charge - The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control offers a nutritional cookbook for families, plus an accompanying video about healthy cooking in the kitchen! The cookbook, titled Healthy Heart and Soul, and the video, titled Taking Charge in the Kitchen, can be found on the It's Your Health, Take Charge website.
